What is the project?

Our project is just for young females. Our project aims to empower young women, develop their leadership abilities and strengthen their sense of community through developing and implentmenting a long term community project.

 

We target all girls from all backgrounds in the borough of Camden. The project is unique in Camden because the participants lead the project and receive the support they need from Fitzrovia Youth in Action.
When did the project start?

 

The girls group at Fitzrovia was started 2001 but has been recently re-launched last year. The girls decide what kind of project they would like to do, this year the girls are partaking in a project called ‘Fashion Fusion’. A fashion project in which the girls are bringing together their cultural, religious and British backgrounds together and designing clothes.

 

What are the benefits?

Being part of Fitzrovia Youth in Action’s Girls Group will give you the opportunity to meet other  likeminded young women and discuss a range of different topics from fashion to politics. The Girls Group will also allow you to develop and strengthen your skills. As a group you will decide what projects you would like to participate in. The group is not all work and no play, we also regularly go on day trips and residentials.

Who is the project open?

All Camden girls aged between 14-22 years old can join in!!
