Three groups of young peer educators devised and delivered separate drugs and alcohol projects which were show-cased in youth clubs across Camden.
FYA worked in partnership with Kilburn Youth Station and delivered two photo project about youth drinking culture called ‘Dream or Reality?’ and ‘Camden Night Out’. FYA also worked with South Camden Youth Access Point (SCYAP) and made a film about Shisha, its culture and health effects. The third project was in partnership with Coram’s Fields Youth Resource Centre’s Arts Project, which saw a group of boys design and built a wooden board game which will be used as a fun and informative way to learn about drugs and alcohol during peer education campaigns/sessions.
The events were held in Maitland Youth Club, Surma Youth Project, SCYAP, Coram’s Fields Youth Centre and Kilburn Youth Station. The events were also part of FYA’s ‘Talk to Frank’ Street Marketing campaign and over 250 young people received drugs awareness information and participated in the events by watching the Shisha film, measuring their carbon dioxide content in their lungs/breath and talking to our peer educators about their projects.
