We run weekly structured football training sessions for U11’s, U12’s, U13’s, and 16+

All our sessions are led by FA1 and FA2 qualified coaches, and participants have opportunities for competitive play in weekly fixtures and friendly games. The majority of our training sessions are held in the Warren football pitch in Whitfield Street (W1), just across the road from our offices, and the Cumberland Market pitch (NW1).

A survey we have conducted with 120 members shows, in line with national research, how the pandemic has impacted the mental health of young people. We also know how short burst of exercise can increase alertness, energy and positive mood.

We are excited to announce that our face-to-face football coaching sessions have resumed from April 2021.

Football has been an important aspect of our work since our foundation in 1997. We use football as a means to engage with young people and build relationships with them. Many of our footballers progress to involvement in our youth-led community projects, such as organising our annual Camden Unity Cup football tournament (to find out more, visit the Community Events page).

Football is also a vital tool in building relationships between young people from different ethnic and geographical backgrounds. Our training sessions bring young people together through their love of the game and provide them with a safe space to meet and mix. The Government Office for London has presented our sports-based youth work as an important factor in addressing gang culture and enhancing community cohesion.
