Football under 12s – end of season update

It’s been a long and eventful season at Camden’s Regent’s Park League. The under 12s team had their work cut out from the beginning: the opposition was strong and our boys had to learn to cope with playing against some quality teams who had been playing together and training within a club environment for years. The league is now done and we just played an exciting league cup quarter final tie against London Tigers which went all the way to penalties after we drew 4-4 in normal time, with no further goals in extra time. The pressure was just too much for our boys and even though we were leading the match throughout normal time, our opposition deserve credit for never giving up and coming back to equalise twice before end of the game. The penalty shootout went the same way and Tigers had the stronger nerves and pulled off a great comeback escape by scoring all their penalties. It has been a lot of fun and we can’t wait for the next season. So, now we will gather our strength again and prepare for the summer tournaments ahead.
We are calling all under 12s and 13s who would like to join us for the next season starting in Oct 2011 to call Donovan on 020 7388 7399 or email donovan.wagner@fya.org.uk for details, or come join us at training every Wednesday at the Warren Football pitch in Whitfield Street, W1T from 5-6.30pm – or meet us in front of Netleys Primary School at 4.45pm sharp!
