Local residents come together for FYA’s Street Party
Posted in News on 03. Sep, 2011
Fitzrovia Youth in Action’s annual Street Party and Community Dinner took place on Saturday 3rd September 2011. With the sun shining the event had a great turnout, with some 250-350 people attending. Lots of young people on FYA projects helped steward the event, along with adult volunteers from FYA’s partner organisations and local businesses.

This year’s stage performances were by far the best and most diverse. Guests were entertained by Bollywood dancers, break dancers, singers, rappers, a beat boxer and a live band, to name but a few. The crowds thoroughly enjoyed the show, which was provided mostly by local young people. The biggest cheer of the day came when 4 year old local resident Kian got up on stage to sing Waving Flag.
FYA would like to thank all those who made the event such a success. Special thanks goes out to: Camden Council; The Aldenman Club Trust; Circle 33 Housing Trust; Bloomsbury Safer Neighbourhood Team; Café Rive Gauche; David Miller Architects; J Hair; First Hand Foundation; Fitzrovia Partnership; Mariam Hassan; Metro Bank; Sizzling Bombay; Tesco; Toks Osanife; UK Health Food Centre; Lovin Studio; Waitrose and Warrens Sandwich Bar.
