Mentoring

Over the last year, we have supported one hundred young people through our mentoring programmes.  We offer two types of mentoring programmes:

Work experience mentoring

Our In-Sight programme brings together local businesses and organisations to offer one week work experience placements, with mentor support, to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who would not otherwise be able to access these opportunities. These placements enable young people to gain the confidence, knowledge and skills they need to progress to employment, training or further education.

Career mentoring

The Camden Mentoring Programme supports Camden residents aged 16-24 who are currently not in education, employment or training by matching them with mentors who can offer advice and guidance in helping them find their right career path. Each mentor and mentee is carefully matched and commits to working together for a minimum of 6 months. The programme provides young people with the tools they need to take charge of their future and make the transition onto apprenticeships, business start-ups or other employment and training pathways.

Study Support

Fitzrovia Youth in Action has partnered with Westminster Kingsway College to deliver study support sessions for their students. Over the last year, we have supported over 200 students in weekly sessions in which volunteers from local universities, including UCL, SOAS, and LSE, facilitate and deliver sessions aimed at building confidence, expanding knowledge and improving grades.

If you’re interested in volunteering your time, please contact insight@fya.org.uk for more information
