Camden’s Youth Award

Fitzrovia Youth in Action Wins Camden’s Best Voluntary Sector Project Award.

In November 2025, Fitzrovia Youth in Action (FYA) proudly received Camden’s Best Voluntary Sector Project Award in recognition of the outstanding achievements of 11 young people from William Ellis School. These dedicated young leaders took part in FYA’s peer education programme and demonstrated what true youth-led change can look like.

Over the summer, the group created “The Vaping Conversation”—a powerful, animated film that explores the effects of vaping. Completely youth-produced and youth-focused, the film formed the foundation of their mission to spark honest dialogue among their peers. They didn’t stop at the screen: the team took their message on tour, delivering more than 30 engaging peer-led workshops, reaching over 300 young people across Camden.

Wanting to broaden their impact even further, the group organised a vibrant community football tournament to run alongside their workshops. The event offered a fun and welcoming space for young people to connect, share ideas and voice their perspectives on vaping and wellbeing.

This inspiring group has shown what meaningful youth-led action truly looks like. They built their project from the ground up, brought creativity and passion to every step, and ensured their message reached as many young people as possible.

Now, as they continue their journey, these young leaders are more motivated than ever—with several already aspiring to become future FYA youth ambassadors.

We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved. Their hard work, leadership and dedication not only deserve recognition—they deserve to be celebrated.
