Training & Consultancy
As central London’s leading youth action agency, FYA are delighted to now be offering training and consultancy for youth organisations to help them to embed ‘the youth led approach’ into their work with young people.
We offer a range of Masterclasses and bespoke Train the Trainer (TTT) programmes to capacity build agencies to build a culture of peer support for the youth that they work with, where young people leading is central.
These include a Facilitation Foundations series (2 hour masterclasses on facilitating youth led programmes the ‘FYA way’) and 2 day TTT programmes that help organisations to codesign their own peer support project and train participants on how to implement peer mentoring programmes, using our resource templates and materials that have been coproduced with young people and youth professionals.
Our 2 day TTT includes:
- Youth Participation and Youth Led Approaches
- Peer Support and Mentoring Models
- Evidence Base
- Setting up a Programme
- Recruitment and Selection
- Implementation and choosing your model
- Facilitation & content
- Training delivery and resources
- Evaluation methods
Thanks to funding from the Greater London Authority, we can offer masterclasses FREE to a number of organisations who are based in / work with young people in the areas of Camden, Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Islington and Westminster between September 2022-April 2024. Train the Trainer Testimonials
“I’d recommend this Train the Trainer programme because it was very inspirational and allows teachers to consider ways to support students whilst also empowering them.”
“The content of the Train the Trainer was interesting and thought provoking. The use of the resources in an interactive way was a good method to stimulate interest. Facilitators were knowledgeable and training resources used to illustrate the peer support programmes most helpful. I’d recommend this TTT programme.”
“The content of the TTT programme was spot on and relevant to what we asked for and the trainers were full of enthusiasm and knowledge. What was most helpful was practical tools, resources and excellent ideas to develop our approach and transform our culture as a school!”
