Our football coaching sessions resumed online following lockdown in March 2020 with weekly sessions delivered through a video platform.
A survey we conducted with 120 members shows, in line with national research, how the pandemic has impacted the mental health of young people. We also know how short bursts of exercise can increase alertness, energy and positive mood.
Our online sessions focus on physical fitness, mental wellbeing and peer support. The programme allows members to work out in their home environment and provides them with opportunities to connect and support each other during these difficult times.
We are excited to announce that from Saturday 18th July 2020 face-to-face football training sessions will be taking place alongside our online fitness programme. These specially adapted coaching sessions allow young people to safely interact in groups and take part in activities, which will further improve their mental and physical health.
