Camden Youth Action Showcase 2018!

Our annual Camden Youth Action Showcase was held on 25th October, and we think it was the best one yet!

The event was organised by and hosted by our Camden Champions, choosing peer support and wellbeing as their theme. The hosts were Noel, Sara, Belicia and Gabi. They were joined by another 14 young people onstage throughout the event presenting their experience of the peer mentoring, peer education, community events and Champions programmes. They were joined by 4 amazing performers Georgia Sullivan, Hanna Hoseni, Yasmin McColl and Aleks Tihomirova.

We screened 16 of the best films made by young people from a range of Camden youth agencies about topics they care about such as relationships, mental health and wellbeing, substance misuse, equality, peer support and youth safety. Attendees were given a wellbeing pack with a stress ball, pen and the ‘Top Tips for Wellbeing’ series of leaflets designed by Camden Champions. The 33 youth stewards then served amazing food from New Rose Tandoori, whilst attendees could network and get to know each other.

We would like to thank all of the organisations and individuals who attended, all the organisations who have taken part in the projects this year and to Sliced Events for their support and hosting the event at The London Irish Centre. We would also like to thank the funders of the event Big Lottery and Camden Commissioning Group.
